The Maxy-Disc is an exact balance of efficiency and production!
Low RPM paddle agitators limit production and depend on pump recirculation to provide the major part of the mix process. In fact pump velocity alone produces better results. The tank baffles associated with slow turn paddle agitators become "dams" during the mix cycle. Charging the mix system with dry material at high rates, 5,000 pounds per minute of some materials, is all but impossible.
High Shear has always required high ( 40 to 50) horsepower. Production was fast but power consumption was high. Compared to a paddle the high horsepower was still more efficient. "Sawtooth" style blades create mixing action in only a small zone around the blade. There is no pumping action forcing solids into the fluid stream.
The High Shear Maxy-Disc requires only 20 to 30 horsepower, based on tank size, for maximum agitation. A reduction of 40 to 50% in horsepower requirement.
Clear liquids are mixed quickly, Dry products are dissolved thoroughly in a minimum of time.
